Besides his loving wife Pat, to whom he was married for 66 years, he is survived by his children, Stephen F. Salvo, and his wife, Millicent, of Newbury, Mass., Dana A. Salvo, and daughter-in-law, Dawn, of Gloucester, Mass., Joyce P. Salvo of Salem, and her companion Thomas Lowry of Newburyport, Mass., and Timothy J. Salvo and his wife, Amy, of Danvers, Mass. Steve also leaves eight grandchildren, Leah, Lisse and Jake Salvo, Jahna and Simone Salvo, and Tiana, Brielle and T. J. Salvo. He is predeceased by his granddaughter, Joelle Salvo.
Steve was hard-working, generous and kind. Among his hobbies and interests, Steve loved to work in his garden, and he also enjoyed boating and fishing. But more than anything else, Steve had a genuine love for his family, which included not just his wife Pat, his sons and daughter and their children, but also his siblings and his many nieces and nephews. Steve will be remembered for his warm heart and caring personality. He will be missed by his family and friends, and his legacy will live on through all those who loved him.
Steve is also survived by his sister, Beatrice Menici of Peabody, widow of Carl Menici; brother, Anthony V. Salvo, former Mayor of Salem, and his wife, Lillian, of Salem; sister, Loretta Nolan and her husband, Frank, of Danvers; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by sisters, Pauline Lojko and her husband, John, and Josephine Sultzbach and her husband, David; and brother Ralph F. Salvo and his wife, Catherine.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 12, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street, Salem, Mass. A service will be held at Murphy Funeral Home for family and friends on Thursday, February 13, at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Waterside Cemetery.
