Salem — Theresa I. Gagnon, 89, of Salem, died Saturday, June 15, at the Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Beverly following a brief illness.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emelie (Demeule) Gagnon. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy and attended secretarial school. For many years, Theresa worked for the Boston & Maine Railroad, first in Boston and later in Chelmsford. She was a member of the former St. Joseph Parish for many years, and enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by two sisters, Lillian Gajewski of Beverly, Jacqueline Gagnon of Salem; a brother, Robert Gagnon and his wife, Claire of Beverly; a sister-in-law, Florence Gagnon of Salem; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Anita Twarkins, Leona Drain, Doris E. Gagnon, Laura Mahoney, and Antoinette Mackey; and her brothers, J. Arthur Gagnon and Clement Gagnon.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m., to be followed by her Funeral Mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem, at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
