PEABODY — Mrs. Marjorie J. (Anderson) Rouisse 88, of Brooksby Village Peabody, formerly of Topsfield, beloved wife of Herbert Rouisse, died April 7, 2014, at Continuing Care at Brooksby Village.
Born in Clinton, she was raised and educated in Leominster and was a graduate of Leominster High School.
Mrs. Rouisse had been employed as a bookkeeper for the former Governor Dummer Academy in their business office for 28 years.
A longtime resident of the Town of Topsfield, Mrs. Rousse was very active in her community. She served for 25 years as the longest elected official on Topsfield Trust Funds, she was appointed Trust Officer to the Cemetery and Parks Department and volunteered at Box Top Community Club to benefit the Visiting Nurse Association for many years. An avid Square dancer, she took great delight in being a part of the Riverside Squares as both and officer and participant. She was a member of the afghan knitting group of the Congregational Church of Topsfield.
Her greatest joy was her family and sharing her home with their many friends. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and those who lives she touched through her years of service and volunteering.
In addition to her loving husband of 67 years, Marjorie is survived by her son, Dana Rouisse of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; her grandson, Christopher Rouisse of Fort Mill, S.C.; and a niece and nephew.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Brooksby Village, Brooksby Village Dr., Peabody, on Monday, April 14, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. A visitation will be held in the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St. (Route 62), Danvers, on Monday prior to her funeral from 8 to 9 a.m. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield.
