Edward F. Brennan, 65


Hamilton — Edward F. Brennan, 65, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, following a lengthy illness that he battled with dignity and a tremendous strength of spirit. He was the loving husband of Kathleen (Kelly) Brennan.

Born in Salem on Feb. 3, 1949, he was the son of the late Gertrude (Shortell) Brennan and Edward Brennan. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School, Class of 1967.

For over 30 years, Ed was employed by U.S. Airways in Boston.

A loving and dedicated husband and father, he generously volunteered his time with the Hamilton-Wenham Little League as a coach, umpire, equipment manager, and founder of the first Tag Day. He also coached in the Hamilton-Wenham Girls Softball League and was an avid Red Sox fan. Ed was a member of the Blue Angels Drum & Bugle Corps for several years and enjoyed playing cribbage at the Hamilton Library and the Danvers Senior Center. He was a dedicated volunteer with Operation Troop Support.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Daniel Brennan of Lynn and Julie Stone and her husband, Kenneth of Peabody; his brothers, Sam Burnham and his wife, Barbara and Bill Burnham, all of Colorado, and Fred Brennan and his sister-in-law, Priscilla Johnson of Beverly; his father-in-law, Kevin Kelly and his wife, Sheila of Danvers; his sister-in-law, Paula Cahill and her husband, Stephen of Danvers; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Kelly of Hamilton and Brian Kelly of Chelsea.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be Sunday, April 13, 2014, from 2:30 to 5 p.m. in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Graveside services will be private.
