SOUTH HAMILTON — Albert Reed Dow, 88, of South Hamilton, died peacefully on April 27 at Beverly Hospital surrounded by his family. He is remembered by his loving wife of 42 years, Terry (Eagles); his seven sons and their spouses, Winthrop, Jonathan (Shawna), Taylor (Catharina), Barnaby (Christine Marie), Ethan (Lesley), Courtney (Rose) Whitney (Stephanie); and his eight grandchildren.
Born in 1925 in Fall River, Albert was a graduate of Durfee High School and Brown University, a WWII United States Navy veteran and worked as a reinsurance underwriter for much of his career. A master storyteller, Albert was known for his love of literature, sharp intellect, quick wit and wry sense of humor.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Service will be held at Saint John’s Episcopal Church, 705 Hale Street, Beverly Farms, on Thursday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There are no visiting hours and burial will be held privately.
