Peabody — Blanche D. (Hoffman) Ossoff, 89, of Peabody, MA, formerly of Marblehead, MA, died peacefully December 23, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Hyman Ossoff, loving mother of Richard Ossoff and his wife Heather Fenton of Atlanta, Georgia; Karen Ossoff of Salem, MA; Susan Ossoff and her husband Greg Durell of Plympton, MA; and David Ossoff and his wife Leslie of Concord, NH. Adoring grandmother of Jonathan Ossoff, Eric and Stephanie Durell, and Hannah, Joseph, and Samantha Ossoff. Sister of the late Katherine Hoffman, Harry Hoffman, Marion Tarshis and Joseph Hoffman (who died in childhood). Blanche was born and grew up in Hartford, CT. After attending the University of Connecticut, she graduated from the Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City where she was working when she met her future husband and decided upon meeting him that he was ‘her fella.’ Hy and Blanche were a devoted couple who enjoyed a very long and happy marriage of 60 years.

ARRANGEMENTS: Services will be held at the Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin Street, Salem, MA on Wednesday, December 26 at 12:00 PM to be followed by burial at Maple Hill Cemetery in Peabody, MA. Memorial Observance will be held at the home of Joseph and Alice Ossoff, following the service until 8 PM. Contributions in Blanche’s memory may be made to Congregation Sons of Israel, P.O.
