Gloria Ann Hughes, 78


Haverhill — Ms. Gloria Ann (Cross) Hughes of Saugus passed away Tuesday, at the Wingate at Haverhill. She was 78. Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Stephen I. Cross and Grace (Hooper) Cross. A nurse, Gloria worked in the field of occupational health at Boston University Hospital and was a compassionate home care nurse to many.

Gloria was the beloved mother of four daughters, Robin Hughes-Keaney of North Andover and her late husband, Edward, Catherine Hughes of Salem, Cheryl Farwell and her husband, Jeffrey of Penacook, N.H., Lori-Ann Davis and her husband, Daniel of Fremont, N.H.; her grandchildren, Melissa Mendez and her husband, Joaquin, Andrew Keaney, Maura Keaney, Christine and Rachel Walker, Jonathan Davis and Ruben James Hughes; as well as her great-grandchildren, Alexis, Joseph, Ivan and Ryan Mendez. She is further survived by her brothers, Donald Cross and his wife, Rachel of Danvers, David Cross of Florida and his former wife, Anita Cross of Beverly, the late Stephen Cross, Jr. and his wife Gloria, and the late Robert Cross and his wife Barbara; and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held Monday morning, January 21, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly location, followed by a funeral service at noon.
