Danvers — Shirley E. (Martin) Pinkham, 89, died Monday morning in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of John W. Pinkham Sr. of Danvers.
Born in Salem, on August 19, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Connor) Martin. She was raised and educated in Salem and had been a Danvers resident for the last 47 years.
Mrs. Pinkham was employed by Parker Brothers in Salem for 27 years, until the time of her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and crocheting, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, John Pinkham, Jr. and his wife, Katie of Danvers and Bruce Pinkham and his wife, Joanne of Peabody; her brother, Bertram Martin of Topsfield; seven grandchildren, John Pinkham, III, Shannon Fisher, Michael Pinkham, Traci Shostak, Bruce Pinkham, Jr., Tiffany Stevenson, and Brandon Pinkham, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be Thursday, at noon, in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Orne Street, Salem. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will precede the service from 11 a.m. to noon.
