Lynn — Audrey Aldus, age 83, of Lynn, died Saturday, January 26, 2013, at her home, following a brief illness. Born in Lynn, in 1930, the daughter of the late Francis and Mildred (Worssam) Aldus. They moved to Peabody in 1935 and she went to the Brown School and Peabody High School, graduating in 1948. A member of the Lake Shore Park Methodist Church.
She worked as a model while attending the Fazio Institute of Hairdressing in Boston. She graduated, apprenticed and ran a shop at her home. She worked as a registered nurse's aide at Union Hospital in Lynn and also worked for eighteen years at the Devlin Nursing Home in Lynn. Later she became a phlebotomist and worked on the road for Faulkner Labs in Malden. She then retired and moved to Kings Lynn.
Audrey leaves her beloved children, Cornelius F. April of Ipswich and Dianne April of Belmont; grandchildren, Colleen and Kathleen Kelly of Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Vincent and Brianna of Texas; her sister, Suzanne Reilly of Lynn She was the mother of the late Donald Kelly and sister of the late Francis E. Aldus Jr. and Betty Stark. She also leaves many friends, especially the five girls she went to grammar school, as well as high school, with. They met every month for lunch. She also leaves her lifelong friend, Marion March who moved to Illinois, but kept in touch by email and phone calls; her nieces, Christine Karsh and her husband, Michael and their two daughters, Dana and Kelly, Patty Kibbe and her husband, Phil, Suzie Aldus of Florida; nephews Robert and Tom Evans of Virginia and Michael Evans of Florida.
ARRANGEMENTS: At the request of the family, Audrey’s funeral will be private. Arrangements are by the Solimine, Landergan & Richardson Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rte. 129), Lynn.
