Malden — Elaine "Laney" Grover of Malden, formerly of Peabody, passed away July 11, 2013, in the Kaplan Family Hospice House following a brief illness. She was a beautiful, vibrant and classy lady, whose uplifting presence captured the attention of everyone when she walked into a room. She enjoyed singing with jazz bands and dancing many nights of the week, especially at the Continental. Laney graduated from Salem State University, where she earned her bachelors degree in psychology. She was a medical advocate, professionally and with friends and family. She saved many lives and helped people manage and better their health. She was the mother of the late Glen Yanco, and is survived by her daughter, Rhonda and her husband, Michael Zero, of Peabody; her son, Jeffrey Yanco and his husband, Daniel Maldonado, of Manchester, Conn.; her son, Eric Yanco of Beverly; her daughter-in-law, Audrey Yanco of Middleton; her sisters, Thelma Gibbs of Swampscott and Louise Fireman of Chestnut Hill; her grandchildren, Lee and Esty Yanco, Elizabeth Teague, Gary Yanco, Samantha Lincoln, Daniel and Steven Levy; 2 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; her cherished boyfriend and dancing partner, Tom Fox of Andover; and her loyal dog, Lilly. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Moscone and former wife of the late Nathan Yanco.
ARRANGEMENTS: A graveside service will be held in Temple Beth El Cemetery, Lowell Street, Peabody, Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Memorial observation will be held in her daughter's home following the interment, with a Shiva Minyan at 7:30 p.m. Shiva is also Monday, 3 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House.
