BEVERLY — Dorothy S. (Fitts) (Bliss) Cole, 93, of Ipswich and formerly of Wenham, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, after a brief illness at the Essex Park Nursing Home in Beverly.
Born in West Dummerston, Vt., Dorothy was the daughter of the late Clarence and Susie (Hall) Fitts. She was the widow of the late Robert H. Bliss of Wenham and the late Harlow B. Cole of Ipswich.
Dot took great pride in her home and raising her family. She loved collecting antiques, going to flea markets, bowling and playing bridge, and baking for the Wenham Tea House. Dorothy was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Bob Bliss of Charlestown, Mass., Bonnie Peterson and her husband, Rick, of Marshfield, Mass., Carol Demers of Tennessee, and John Bliss of Florida; one sister, Bernice Halloway of Northfield, Mass.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A graveside service will be held at the Wenham Cemetery, on Main Street, (Route 1A), in Wenham, MA, on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
