DANVERS — Tema Lee (Shapiro) Moar, 60, died on Saturday, July 13, at Massachusetts General Hospital, after a long battle with melanoma cancer. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn and Morris Shapiro. A lifelong resident of Danvers, she graduated from Danvers High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Mrs. Moar worked as a substitute teacher in the Danvers School System for many years, until 10 years ago, when she became the caregiver to her mother, Evelyn, who passed in January 2013.
Mrs. Moar had been an active member of Parents Advisory Council for Danvers schools, and past member of Temple Beth Shalom of Peabody, and National Council for O.R.T.
Mrs. Moar was the devoted wife of Michael Moar; beloved mother of Karyn and her husband, Christopher MacDougall; and cherished grandmother of Kensington MacDougall. She was the sister of Barry and his wife, Sally Shapiro, and Lois and her late husband, George Dolansky. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews
