Beverly — James Ward, 88, died on May 19, 2013, in Venice and was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy “June” (McNutt) Ward, 85, who died on March 26, 2012, also in Venice. They were happily married for sixty-six years.
James was born in Salem on December 26, 1924. He was the son of the late James T. Ward and Nellie P. (Porter) Ward. James and Dorothy were residents of Beverly until 1972 and relocated to Anaheim, Calif., until 1996 and then to Florida.
He is survived by his sisters, Nancy Rowbottom of Bridgewater and Joanne Kennedy of Danvers; a brother, Brian Ward of Bradenton, Fla. He was also predeceased by his two sisters, Arlene Grant and Gloria Ward.
Dorothy was born in Beverly on April 30, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Virginia (Lansol) McNutt.
She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Moody of LaBelle, Fla.; and a brother, Paul McNutt of Springvale, Maine. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Raymond, Robert and John McNutt.
They are also survived by their daughters, Linda Ward of San Diego, Calif., Nancy Ward of Long Beach, Calif., Patricia Hamilton of Pittsburg, Texas, and Barbara Venezia of Beverly; sons, Michael Ward of Garland, Texas, and Douglas Ward of Long Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Mass for Mr. James Ward and his wife, Dorothy “June” Ward will be celebrated on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly, MA. Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend. Interment will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
