INVERNESS, FL — Phyllis B. (Stillson) Ball, 83, of Inverness, Fla., formerly of Beverly, beloved wife of Richard H. Ball, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late William and Bertha (Martin) Stillson. She was raised and educated in Beverly and a longtime Beverly resident.
Phyllis worked for over 40 years as a custodian for the City of Beverly, mostly at the McKay School in Beverly.
Phyllis and her husband, Richard, would reside in Florida for the winters until they retired in 1992 and then made their home in Inverness, Fla., for the past 21 years. She and her husband would love spending their summers at their home in Effingham, N.H. Phyllis loved all types of animals, as well as trying her luck at a little gambling. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband with whom she shared 62 years of marriage, she is survived by her two daughters, Bonnie M. Ball of Inverness, Fla., Barbara Alex Massa and her husband, Thomas, of Marblehead; her twin sister, Patricia M. Celentano of Beverly; four grandchildren, Bonnie, John, Bailey, Layne; and one great-grandson, Alex; and many nieces and nephews.
