Rev. Mr. David Shrader, Senior Deacon, 75, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at his home on Lubern Avenue.
Born on May 25, 1938 in Beverly, MA, David was the son of James and Irene (Charron) Shrader. He graduated from St. Mary’s Boys School in Lynn, MA and was a 1960 graduate of Merrimack College with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
After his marriage he and his wife lived in Danvers for almost 40 years, working and raising their three children. Dave worked for Sylvania (Osram) and AVCO (Textron), specializing in aerospace engineering and contracted to the US Air Force as a project engineer.
Answering a special calling, he attended St. John’s Seminary in Boston and was ordained a Permanent Deacon in 1988 at Holy Cross Cathedral. His first assignment was St. Richard Church in Danvers. After his move to Allenstown in 2002, Mr. Shrader served at Holy Rosary Church in Hooksett and also at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown.
Chosen duties as a Deacon were youth ministry and prison ministry. He worked with the young people at St. Richard Church and spent 25 years ministering to inmates, both men and women, in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
On a more personal level, Deacon Dave enjoyed photography and long distance bicycling. He was also a ham radio operator, call sign W1MCE.
A devoted husband and father, David leaves his wife of almost 50 years, Patricia (Chase) Shrader of Allenstown; 3 children and their spouses, Gregory Shrader and Amy of Canaan, ME, Christopher Shrader and Tina of Derry, and Melissa Shaw and Michael of Port Orange, FL; 11 grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, Emily, Madeline, Gregory, Olivia, Gabriel, Amanda, Justin, Austin, and Chloe; a great granddaughter, Luna; a sister, Francine Mascagni of Lady Lake, FL; and nieces and nephews.
To further serve his prison ministry, the Deacon wished to have memorial donations sent to The American Bible Society, P. O. Box 96812, Washington, D.C. 20090-6812
Family will greet friends on Sunday from 1-4 pm during calling hours at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 am at St. John the Baptist Church.
Burial will take place at a later date in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

Born July 12, 1928, in Somerville, Massachusetts to Clifford Brine and Gladys Doane Brine, Mr. Brine was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Dawn, and brother, Clifford. A longtime resident of Beverly, Massachusetts, Mr. Brine was a collector of antiques and was passionate about maritime history and memorabilia. Mr. Brine was a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, an avid gardener, lover of animals, and a lifelong member of the MSPCA and Animal Rescue League of Massachusetts.

Born in Lynn, MA, he attended school at Masconomet and Saugus High, before enlisting in the Army. He became a dog trainer in the service quickly attaining Sergeant and served for 2 years on Okinawa. Upon return he married his lifelong sweetheart and started a family. Steve found work and many friends in the phone company before living his dream by moving to Hawaii. Those years gave him innumerable happy memories to savor. Steve also worked at Uncle Henry's Marina where he met and loved patrons too numerous to list. In his free time he enjoyed working in the yard, fast cars, great music, and the company of close friends and family. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 43 years, Libby; his son, Stephen Donovan of Anchor Point, AK; his daughter, Stacey Donovan of Nantucket and her husband, Leo Maurer; two grandchildren, Seamus Donovan and Nathan Maurer; his mother, Helen Donovan as well as numerous other family and friends that have enriched his life. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Donovan.

Beverly — George A. Marquis, 87, of Beverly, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday morning, March 3, surrounded by his family. Born in Taunton, Mass., George was the son of the late Antonio and Caroline Andrade Marquês (Marquis). He grew up in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1944. George was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy as an aircraft mechanic in the Philippines from 1944-1945. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1947. After the war, George worked alongside his father as a home builder. Together, the two designed and built numerous homes throughout the city of Peabody. The name Santa Ovaia Circle, a cul-de-sac of homes George and his father built near Wilson Square, was chosen in honor of his father's boyhood village, Santa Ovaia, in Coimbra, Portugal. Throughout his life, he was particularly interested in architecture and history.
