Peabody, MA — Eric C. Poto, 41, of Peabody, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, May 18, 2014. He was born in Lynn, Mass., on June 18, 1972, and was the son of Anthony and Marie (Vella) Poto. He was raised and educated in Salem, graduating from Salem High School. He later graduated from Salem State University and received his master's from George Mason University in Virginia. He had been a teacher in computer science, first in Virginia, and for the past nine years with the City of Everett School System in Massachusetts. He had resided in Peabody for the past five years.
Eric was a very artistic and talented musician, and had earned a college scholarship, and loved to play music on his keyboard. He enjoyed traveling and was an ardent sports fan of the New England Patriots, the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins.
He is survived by his parents of Salem, Mass.; his two brothers, Michael and his wife, Nataliya Poto of Lowell, and David Poto of Oswego, Ill.; a sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Jack Durgin of Danvers, Mass.; six nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: A visitation will be held Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His funeral will be held on Saturday, at 10 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Lynn St., Peabody, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
