Salem — Mrs. Enid M. (Hubbard) Gardzinir, 93, of Salem, died on Saturday, June 21, 2014, in a local nursing home, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Walter P. Gardzinir. She was born in Natick, Mass., and was the daughter of the late Everett and Della (Wallace) Hubbard. She was raised in Laconia, N.H., and was a 1939 graduate of Laconia High School. She had lived in Salem since 1943.
She was a member of the Women’s Army Corps and served in Fort Worth, Texas. She enjoyed knitting, ceramics, flowers, and gardening. Mrs. Gardzinir taught Sunday School in Salem’s Baptist Church. She was also a Brownie Girl Scout Leader, a member of the local PTA, and a member of the Franklin Park Mother’s Association in Salem.
Mrs. Gardzinir was a bookkeeper and office manager for the K-Mart in Danvers for many years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Gayle Stout of Dansville, N.Y., Patricia Isbell of Durham, N.C.; her grandchildren, Derek Stout and his wife, Christina, of Salem, Jennifer Gadson and her husband, Robert, of Bluffton, S.C., Rebecca Stout of Springfield, Mass., Dr. Benjamin Tobias Isbell and his wife, Julie, of Charlottesville, Va.; her great-grandchildren, Victoria Stout, Kativa Stout, Jaelyn Gadson, and Taevon Gadson; and three additional great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held on Thursday, June 26, at 11 a.m., in the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, Route 129, Lynn. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
