Middleton — Mrs. Barbara J. (Cushman) Currier, 82, of Middleton, beloved wife of the late Raymond H. “Jigger” Currier, died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, surrounded by her family.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Lee H. and Rosamond (Butler) Cushman. She was raised and educated in Hamilton, and was a graduate of Hamilton-Wenham High School. She continued her education and graduated from the Beverly Hospital School of Nursing.
Mrs. Currier had been employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Beverly Hospital, and more recently, she had been employed for many years at Twin Oaks Nursing home in Danvers, until the time of her retirement.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Barbara had a deep love of her family. She was an avid skier and outdoors woman, who had a passion for animals, especially dogs. Yet above all else her family was paramount. She relished the time she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Linda Greely and her husband, David, of Newburyport, and Catherine Currier-Power of Thousand Palms, Calif.; her son, Andrew Currier and his wife, Susan, of Middleton; her grandchildren, Brian Tirrell and his wife, Kristen, Justin Tirrell, Jason Greely and his wife, Keri, and David Power; her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Mason, Ryan, Trevor, and Memphis; and her beloved grand dogs.
