Salem — Mr. Henry E. Wadach, 66, of Salem, died Saturday July 5, 2014, at Peabody Glenn Nursing Center, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Edward and Felicia (Pszenny) Wadach, and brother of the late Louis Wadach. He was raised and educated in Salem, attending St. John the Baptist Polish School, and graduating from Bishop Fenwick High School. Mr. Wadach continued his education and took several courses in criminal justice at North Shore Community College.
Henry was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, spending several years in the State Auditor’s office. After leaving there, he worked for other state agencies, most notably the Department of Agriculture.
A lifetime resident of Salem, he was a longtime communicant of St. John the Baptist Polish Church, and he was a member of the PLAV Post 55. An avid boater, he enjoyed fishing and being out on the water. He also enjoyed reading, especially books about WWII.
Henry is survived by his five cousins, Thomas Pszenny of Salem, Mary Jo Thibedeau and her husband, Dave, of Beverly, Carol Reina of Danvers, Kathleen Pszenny of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Paul Lebroda and his wife, Margie, of Beverly.
One of Henry's final wishes was to express his sincere gratitude to his friends, neighbors and caregivers for all the help and support they gave him as he battled cancer over the past two years
