Peabody, MA — Helen (Coffin) Vlasuk, 97, of Peabody, died early Saturday morning, July 5, 2014, at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, after a short illness.
She was the wife of the late Julius Vlasuk. She was born in Marblehead, Mass., on August 2, 1916, and was the daughter of the late Arvid and Mildred Coffin. She was raised in Salem, graduating from Salem High School. She had resided most of her life in Peabody.
Helen raised her family at home and had been active in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Peabody. She loved to watch baseball and rooted for her Red Sox. She also enjoyed reading and listening to her Dean Martin albums. She had attended the Roger Trask Day Care Center in Peabody for many years.
She is survived by her three grandchildren, Frederick J. Vlasuk Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Lynn, James Vlasuk and his wife, Laura, of Everett, and Catherine Vlasuk of Dedham; and many nieces and nephews, including Virginia Pelletier of Peabody and Peabody Police Lt. Scott Wlasuk of Peabody. She was the mother of the late Frederick J. Vlasuk, and the sister of the late Priscilla Pelletier, Virginia Martin and Mary Coffin.
ARRANGEMENTS: A visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a service at 11:30 a.m., by Rev. Mayra De Carlen. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
