Swampscott — Sarah A. (Coady) Guy, of Swampscott, passed into eternal rest on Thursday, July 3, at 3 a.m. She was born in Salem, Mass., and attended Salem schools, and was later a lifetime resident of Swampscott, Mass., where she raised her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Clinton J. Guy Sr.; and her daughter, Cheryl F. Guy.
Sarah (Sally) Guy leaves her four sons, Robert D. Whearty Jr., and daughter-in-law, Arlene Whearty of East Sandwich, William J. Whearty Sr., and daughter-in-law, Mary Whearty of Lynn, Clinton J. Guy Jr., of Swampscott, and Jeffrey J. Guy, and daughter-in-law, Lucia, of Beverly; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Kathleen (Coady) Lewalski of Florida. She was also predeceased by her sister, Mary (Coady) Ferguson of Florida; and her brother, John “Buddy” Coady of Salem; and her grandson, Paul Whearty of Lynn, Mass.
She will be most remembered for her love of Fisherman’s Beach in Swampscott, and of her many years working with the Athanas Family as a hostess at Anthony’s Hawthorne By-The- Sea, also in Swampscott.
Her tireless work ethic and commitment to her employer allowed her to achieve an amazing career spanning 40 years.
