Nahant — Mrs. Dorothy J. (Cunningham) Comito, 90, of Nahant and formerly of Lynn, died on Saturday, July 5, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late George Comito.
Born in Knoxville, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Willie June (Henson) Cunningham. She graduated from Knoxville High School. Dorothy moved to Lynn in 1946, and has lived in Nahant since 1978.
She worked at Eastern Bank in Lynn for many years, and also worked for Weight Watchers and at the Lynn Polls.She was a Cub Scout Den Mother for many years, and was a member of the Lynn Womens Police Auxiliary.
Dorothy was the mother of Richard J. Comito and his wife, Carrie, of Nahant, Robert J. Comito and his wife, Pamela, of Lynn, Randel G. Comito and his wife, Sia, of Lynn, and Norene Gachignard of Salem. She also leaves a sister, Catherine LaForce of Topeka, Kan.; five grandchildren, Richard J. Comito Jr., Robert J. Comito Jr., Shawn Comito, Janine Comito, and Molly Gachignard; a great-grandson, Joshua Comito; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held on Thursday, at 9 a.m., from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass in Ste. Anne’s Church, Salem, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
