Lynn, MA — Walter G. “Buddy” Mello passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014. Buddy was born and raised in Lynn by the late Charles and Jeanne (Fleury) Mello. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
Buddy worked in construction and as an auto mechanic, enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast. He was also a member of the AMVETS Post MA-0161.
Buddy is survived by his wife, Elaine; son, Michael, of Danvers; daughter, Elise, of Atlanta, Ga.; his siblings, Candida "Candy" Moore of Byfield, Charles Mello of Florida, Donna Kelley of Alaska, Richard Mello of Lynn, Mary Mello of Gloucester, and Debra Mello of Lynn; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held on Friday, July 11, at 9 a.m., from the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, Route 129, Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Lynnfield, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 10, from 4 to 8 p.m.
