Wenham — Mr. Harry C. Fraser Sr. 89, beloved husband of the late Phyllis V. (Small) Fraser, passed peacefully Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by his children. Born and educated in Salem and a graduate of Salem High School’s Class of 1941. Harry went on to proudly serve his country in World War II in the U.S. Navy. Upon his discharge, in 1946, Harry was employed by the former New England Telephone Company, retiring after 39 years from NYNEX. Along with his dedication and love of his family, he enjoyed fishing, golfing and boating. He was a longstanding member of Ould Newbury G.C., The Telephone Pioneers of America and the American Legion.
Harry is survived by his sister Jean Keenan of Beverly. He is further survived by his two sons, Harry C. Fraser Jr. and his wife Stacy of Salem and Drew Fraser and his wife Peggy of Georgetown; His daughters, Susan J. Whelton and her husband Brian of Topsfield, Connie Young of Salem and Tracey A. Fraser of Gloucester and son-in-law Roger Gagnon of Groveland. He leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by his daughter Nancy Fraser of Groveland.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass which will be held in St. Paul Church, 50 Union St., Hamilton, on Saturday, March 23rd, at 11 AM. Harry will be laid to rest, with his beloved daughter Nancy, in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours will be held on Friday March 22nd in the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., North Beverly, from 4 to 7 PM.
