George E. Barry, 81


Beverly — Mr. George E. Barry died Friday, March 22nd, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, he was 81. Born in Danvers, he was the son of the late Rosemarie (Moore) and James H. Barry. A graduate of St. John’s Prep, George enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean Era. Upon his honorable discharge, he continued his education at St. Michael's College in Vermont. For many years George worked at Western Electric in Andover where he retired as a marketing manager.

The beloved husband of the late AnnMarie (Traverse) Barry, together they were married 49 years. He is survived by his son: Phillip A. Barry of Beverly; his brother: James H. Barry, Jr. of Fitchburg; his sisters: Jane Dippo of Newton Upper Falls, Therese Richards of Hamilton, and the late Roseanne Merrill, Catherine Ellen Barry, Rita Stevens and Ruth Barry.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Thursday, March 28th, at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly location), on Wednesday, March 27th, from 4PM to 7PM. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Beverly. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 11 Market Sq., Lynn, MA 01905.
