Salem, MA — Marguerite M. (Bouchard) Morin, 81, of Salem, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the NSMC / Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Richard A. Morin.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Eva (Bouchard) Bouchard. For most of her life, Marguerite worked in bookkeeping. She first worked for Sylvania in the billing department. Married to Richard in 1953, the couple moved to Texas for a brief period of time and later returned to Salem. Over the years she has worked for many varied companies, including, LaPointe Fuel Co., AC Lawrence Leather, Loring Motors, Davy Chevrolet, Ira Olds and Barnegat Transportation at Pickering Warf Marina. She retired from Mentuck & Associates.
Marguerite was a member of the Salem Council on Aging and the AARP. She did volunteer work at the Council on Aging and the Pilgrim Rehab in Peabody. She loved painting with acrylics, reading, music and singing.
She is survived by two sons, Robert A. Morin, of Plaistow, N.H., Richard P. Morin and his wife, Maryellen, of Sanford, Maine; two daughters, Denise A. Gilbert and Lisa E. Filadoro, both of Lynn; a sister, Claire E. Gagnon and her husband, James, of Peabody; five grandchildren, Paul Brienza, Scott and Ryan Gilbert, Daniel Morin and Amanda Filadoro; four great-grandchildren, Anthony, Emma, Nevaeh and Aidan. She was predeceased by her brother, Norman Bouchard.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Monday, April 29, 2013, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. (Rte. 114 / 1-A), Salem, to be followed by her funeral Mass in St. James Church, 156 Federal St., Salem, at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
