DANVERS — Robert E. "Bob" DeMarco, 76, of Danvers died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 25, 2010 at the Kaplan Family Hospice with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Joan (McSweeney) DeMarco, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of Joseph and Mildred (Russell) DeMarco. Bob was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Merrimac College and Northeastern University. He was an engineer at General Electric in Lynn for 36 years, retiring in 1990 as Manager of the Commercial Medium Steam Turbine Dept.
He was an avid golfer, a member of the Lynn G.E.Elfun Chapter and the Lynn Sparkplug Associates. Mr. DeMarco enjoyed traveling and spending time with his loving family.
Besides Joan, he leaves a son, Robert DeMarco and his wife Alison of New Jersey; three grandchildren, Brian, Scott, and Christopher all of New Jersey; and his in-laws; William and Linda McSweeney. He was predeceased by a son, John DeMarco and his siblings, Grace Eaton, Rose Shackley and Mildred Hodgkins.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service for Robert will be held on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 10 a.m. in the Mackey Funeral Home, followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Visitation on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. The family requests memorial donations in Robert's name be made to Hospice of the NS., 75 Sylvan St., Danvers MA 01923.
