Eileen (Manley) Caldwell, 93


Beverly — Eileen M. (Manley) Caldwell, 93, the wife of the late John D. Caldwell, died peacefully on February 28, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness.

Born in Boston on December 13, 1919, Eileen graduated from Woburn High School. She married John Caldwell in 1945. Soon after, they moved to Beverly where they raised their family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was devoted to the Catholic Church and a member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Parish in Beverly. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed many visits to the Emerald Isle where she reconnected with her relatives. Eileen was beloved by all who knew her. She had the unique ability to share her warmth, love and kind heart with a single word, a touch or her smile. Her life was full of love, there are no words suited to express how much she will be missed.

Eileen was the dear sister of Margaret Morrow. Cherished mother of John Caldwell, his wife Mary, Gary Caldwell, his wife Julie, Joanne Peters, her husband Joseph, Alice Williams, her husband Michael, Neal Caldwell, his wife Karen Tallarom and her son Steven Caldwell. She was the treasured grandmother of Kristin Creed, her husband Daryl, Allison Peters, Lorraine Andrews, her husband Greg, Lauren Williams, Erin Caldwell, Katelyn Williams, John Caldwell, Amy Caldwell, Michael Caldwell, Julia Caldwell and Emily Caldwell. She was an adoring aunt and was a special friend to many. She was predeceased by her loving husband John, her son Jackie and her brother Andrew.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday March 5th, in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly, at 11 am. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 4th, in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly from 4 - 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Little Sisters of the Poor, Jeanne Jugan Residence, 186 Highland Ave., Somerville, MA 02143, 617-776-4420 or Lynch Park, c/o Friends of Beverly Recreation, PO Box 691, Beverly, MA 01915, 978-921-6067.
