PEABODY — Joseph S. Solberg, 90, of Wakefield, formerly of Winthrop and Medford, died Wednesday, November 27 at Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody after a long illness.
A native of Medford and graduate of Medford High, he served in the Army during WWII. He returned to Medford and lived there until 1960. He then lived in Winthrop from 1960 to 1989 and Wakefield from 1990.
A retired Electrical contractor, Mr. Solberg was active in the Essex Lodge of Masons in Salem and the Aleppo Temple of Shriners. He was the devoted husband of the late Fay (Weinstein) Solberg; beloved father of Jacqueline Cutler, Nancy & her husband Michael Boardway and the late Eric Solberg. Cherished grandfather of Michelle, Amanda & Michael, Asa and Noah; and dear brother of the late Jennie Sapolsky, Hazel Horovitz, Mildred Pearlswig, Merrill and Fred Solberg.
ARRANGEMENTS: Services at the Goldman Funeral Chapel, 174 Ferry St., (off Route 60), Malden on Sunday, December 1, at 11 a.m. Interment in Peabody.
