Carl Bartlett, 89


Beverly Farms — Carl Bartlett, 89, of Beverly Farms, husband of Ann K. (Hurley) Bartlett, died October 19, at Kaplan Hospice House. Born in Lynn, and raised in Boston and Prides Crossing, he was the son of the late Carl and Nora (Sullivan) Bartlett. He was a graduate of Commerce High School and Wentworth Institute. Mr. Bartlett was a World War II veteran in the Army Air Force, and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of operations. He was stationed on Saipan Island with the 499th bomb group.

He was retired from G.T.E./Sylvania where he worked for 23 years as a design specialist in the Engineering Dept. Mr. Bartlett enjoyed many hobbies, especially gardening and lobstering out of Manchester harbor, and also photography.

In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is survived by his daughter, Mary Sue Kilpatrick and her husband, Kevin J. Kilpatrick of Beverly Farms; a sister, Josephine Kind of Arizona; a sister-in-law, Bertha (Betty) Bartlett of Peabody; and five grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Caitlin and Caroline Kilpatrick, and Amy (Bartlett) Lovseth, and her husband Stian, and Sarah Bartlett of New York City. He was predeceased by a son, C. Thomas Bartlett; a daughter, Susan; and three siblings, William Bartlett, Betty Severini, and Barbara Landers.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral mass will be held at St. Margaret’s Church, Beverly Farms, on Tuesday, October 23, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial and military honors will follow at Beverly Farms Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.
