Beverly — Mr. Luis C. Carmona, 79, beloved husband of Seurys Carmona, died peacefully, Friday, October 26, 2012, at the Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Beverly.
Born and raised in San Pedro Pinar Del Rio, Cuba, he was the son of the late Luis L. and Angelina Carmona. Luis was on one of the first Liberty Flight out of Cuba to Miami during the Cuban Revolution in March of 1965. He resided in Florida then Puerto Rico before moving to New York where he resided for many years. He had been a resident of Massachusetts since early 1990.
A resident of Beverly, Luis enjoyed salt water fishing, watching the Boston Red Sox and spending time with friends at the PACE day program in Beverly. Most of all, he was a loving and devoted husband and father who was very proud of his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Merida Carmona Whelley of Denver, CO, and Lucia Carmona of Puerto Rico, a son, Luis Carmona of Beverly, a granddaughter, Siare Melendez, a great-granddaughter, Paola Nevrez and his two black labs, “Stella” and “Dora.”
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell–Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly location), Monday (today) from 4 to 7 p.m. followed by a brief prayer service at 7 p.m. to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
