Marblehead — Robert F. Johnson of Marblehead, MA, passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2012, surrounded by his family. Bob was married to Sandy, the love of his life for more than 52 years. He was a deeply devoted father to their sons Mark and his wife Colleen, Michael and his wife Sabine, Paul and his wife Bonnie and their daughter Janet Husband and her husband Chris. He was an adoring “Bumpa” to their nine grandchildren, Rob, Ashley, Amanda, Samantha, Devon and Camden Johnson and Nicholas, Erika and Christopher Roth. He also leaves behind his sister, Patricia as well as countless friends and colleagues worldwide.
Bob was a native of Dorchester, MA, having graduated from Dorchester High School in 1956. He continued his education at night while supporting his family, graduating with a B.S. degree from Northeastern University’s School of Law Enforcement and a J.D. from The New England School of Law. His dedication to education remained throughout his life, as an adjunct professor at Northeastern University as well as a Trustee and Overseer for the school. He was also a recipient of Northeastern’s Outstanding Alumni Award for Business and Industry.
His distinguished professional career centered around more than 28 years of executive and entrepreneurial success as the Co-Founder, President and CEO of First Security Services Corporation. Through his leadership, the firm grew to be one of the largest private security firms in the US, providing careers and education to countless thousands in the Northeast. He was a founding member and past President of the International Security Management Association. His expertise in security and law enforcement also led Bob to important public service engagements with the Boston and New York City police departments in their historic re-engineering projects and was also a member of the Special Advisory Task Force for Massport formed by the then-Governor of Massachusetts after the 9/11 attacks.
