He had a lifelong love of the ocean and boating, and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1956 to 1958 as a helmsman on the USS Tweedy and USS Dashiell.
He will be remembered fondly for his humor, intellect and fierce dedication to family and friends. Most of all, he will be remembered for the smile on his face and the light in his eyes when playing with his children and grandchildren over his long and wonderful life.
