Vernon R. "Matt" Lamkin, 80


DANVERS — Vernon “Matt” R. Lamkin, 80, passed away in Danvers, MA, on November 10, 2012. “Matt” was born to the late Emma & Harold Lamkin in Egg Harbor, N.J. He graduated from Egg Harbor H.S. and attended the University of Delaware where he had a very successful baseball & basketball career. He served in the United States Army before becoming a successful business man at Analtech, Inc. A company he co-founded in 1961 and retired from in 2011. His other passions in life in addition to Analtech included spending time with family and friends, bass fishing, golfing and traveling.

“Matt” was predeceased by his loving wife Audrey and his brother Harold. He is survived by his sister Meriam Zaccagnino of Vineland, N.J., his loving children — daughter Janet Pedersen and her husband Kevin of Beverly, MA, son Steve and his wife Sheila of Richmond, Va., his 3 grandsons Kevin “K.C.” and wife Jamie, Matthew and Sean, twin great-grandsons Jack and Brady and his 2 granddaughters Melissa and Amanda.

ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 16, at Chandler Funeral Home — 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, Delaware 19707 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. A private burial will then be held on November 17. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association and/or the American Lung Association.
