Dorothy C. Ford, 81


Wenham — Dorothy Catherine (Manning) Ford, 81, of Wenham, formerly of Danvers, passed away Wednesday, October 17, at Kaplan Family Hospice House, following a brief illness.

Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late John and Annie (Harte) Manning. She was the beloved wife of the late Timothy Ford, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage.

She was employed at PJ Woods Insurance Co. and the United Shoe until the birth of her first child, at which time she began her lifetime career of loving wife, mother, and grandmother, a vocation at which she excelled. Along with her devoted faith, she enjoyed gardening, her Saturday morning tea with her family, and her occasional trips to Ireland.

She is survived by her children Thomas and Heather Ford, Ann Amatucci, Timothy and Anne Ford and Patricia Kavanagh along with her 11 grandchildren, Molly, Teri, Colin, Caitlin, Patrick, Brian, Colleen, Tadhg, Brigit, Rory, and Nora. She was predeceased by her infant daughter Deborah, her brother John Manning, and her sister Mary Conway.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers, Monday, October 22, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 9 Dane Street, Beverly (Downtown location), Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
