Salem — Helen M. (Ellard) Cappuccio, age 75, wife of the late George Leo Cappuccio of Salem, died Tuesday morning in Grosvenor Park Nursing Home, Salem.
Born, raised and educated in Salem, the daughter of the late Denis and Margaret (O’Brien) Ellard, she had attended St. James Grammar school and was graduated from St. James High School.
Once she completed her education at Burdette Business School for bookkeeping, Mrs. Cappuccio was employed by Pilgrim Trust (later known as State Street Bank). Mrs. Cappuccio also worked several years at the Sylvania Credit Union and had retired from the City of Salem Park Department.
An avid reader, she had been extremely active in St. James Parish activities, most notably their annual fair and weekly bingo games.
She is survived by her brother and sisters, Margaret (Peggy) Harte of Rochester, N.H., John Ellard and his wife Natalie of Gloucester, and Mary Danforth and her husband William of Beverly; many nieces and nephews and her close friends, Geraldine Castonguay of Salem and Katherine Keohane of Danvers.
She was predeceased by a brother, Dennis Ellard.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held on Saturday, November 3, at 9:15 a.m., from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (corner of North Street), Salem, to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. James Church, 156 Federal St., Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Friday in the Murphy Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
