Stanley T. Bekeritis, 91

Salem — Stanley T. Bekeritis, age 91 of Salem, died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the NSMC / Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Theresa H. (Leclerc) Bekeritis, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Simon and Albina (Brosinus) Bekeritis. A graduate of Salem High Class of ’39, he was attending Boston University when he was called to active duty with the Army. Stan served states side and in England with the Army Air Force. Following his tour of duty he returned to Salem and BU where he completed his degree in business administration.

Stan began his career as an auditor with the New England Electric System, traveling throughout the New England region. He later spent a period of time at the Westborough Headquarters of Massachusetts Electric, ultimately retiring in 1987 after 41 years of service as Assistant to the District Manager in Malden.

Devoted to his wife and family, Stan served as former President and Lt. Governor of the Malden Kiwanis Club and was also a member of the American Legion Post 23, and a former member of the Palmer Cove Yacht Club. He and his wife were members of the Immaculate Conception Parish.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Robert P. Beck of Salem, Richard P. Beck and his wife Sheila of Auburn, NH, a daughter, Mary T. Prindle and her husband Allan of Miami, FL, a sister, Virginia Michaels and her husband John of Bluffton, SC, and loving and devoted grandfather to, Brianna, Haleigh & Hunter Prindle, and step-grandchildren Cassandra & Mackenzie Thompson as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Edna B. Eaton.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd, Salem.
