Lawrence J. Deschenes, 82


Beverly — Lawrence J. Deschenes, 82, died on Sunday, September 15, 2013, at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly.

Born and raised in Beverly, he was the son of the late Albert and Cathleen (Watson) Deschenes.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Navy. He later continued his service to our country as a member of the United States Air Force.

A lifelong resident of the city of Beverly, Mr. Deschenes had a passion for football, both on the college and professional level. He was admired for his great memory and detailed storytelling.

Larry’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff, his “extended family,” at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation Center for the care and love they gave to him over the years.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Claire of Woodbridge, Va.; his sister-in-law, Christine Deschenes of Beverly; and three nephews, Gregory Deschenes of Beverly, Gary Deschenes of Lynn, and Brian Deschenes of Peabody. He was also the brother of the late Joseph Deschenes.
