Ryan P. Andrews, 34


Danvers, MA and formerly of Lynn, MA — Ryan P. Andrews, age 34, of Danvers and formerly of Lynn, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2013, surrounded by his loving family and friends, following a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was the beloved husband of Jessica (Horne) Andrews and cherished father to their son, Cole.

Born in Lynn in 1978, he was the youngest son of John W. and Barbara (McCarthy) Andrews of Kensington, N.H. He was raised in Lynn, educated in Lynn Public Schools and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1996. He later went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater State College.

Ryan worked as a systems engineer at SuperMedia LLC, the official publisher of Verizon Print, for over 15 years. Growing up, he was involved in several local sports leagues. He played Pine Hill Little League, was a Jr. member at Gannon Municipal Golf Course and loved hanging out with his friends. While at Classical he was the number one ranked golfer. He was a former member of the Thomson C.C. in North Reading and especially enjoyed spending his time teaching his son, Cole, how to swing a club in the back yard at their family home. Ryan was an avid sports fan and especially loved baseball, basketball and golf and wanted to make sure he passed on this passion of sports to his young son. He and his wife, Jessica, loved spending time with their friends and neighbors, the “Hathorne Greene Gang.” Ryan’s courageous battle with brain cancer and his heart of gold, are just some of the memories his family and friends will always cherish.

In addition to his wife, Jessica, son, Cole and parents, John and Barbara, Ryan is survived by his brother, Sean Andrews of Peabody; his sister, Keri Lynch and her husband, Jon, of Peabody; his maternal grandmother, Alice “Cindy” McCarthy of Danvers; his mother-in-law, Mary Lou Horne of Boxford; his father-in-law, Stephen Horne and his wife, Judith, of Georgetown; his 2 brothers-in-law, Jeffrey Horne of Topsfield and Jarrod Horne of Reading; his niece, Riley and nephews, Kyle, JD and Jake and several other step-in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins and close family and friends including Nicole Johnson and Jon and Adam Aucella. He was the grandson of the late Morris “Andy” and Rita Andrews and Charles McCarthy.

ARRANGEMENTS: His Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, (Route 129), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary Church, Lynn at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Private burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn at a later date.
