Swampscott, MA — James passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, with his nephew by his side, at Brigham Manor in Newburyport, Mass. James was born in Cambridge, Mass., on April 12, 1937, to the late Ralph and Geneva (McLaughlin) Trim.
His family returned to Islesboro, Maine, where James lived until the 1960s. James moved from Islesboro to Medford, Mass., then settled in Swampscott, where he spent the past 35 years.
James worked for the Provident Bank in Boston, where he met his longtime friend Joe Patti. He also enjoyed working for Boston Trolley Tours, as he enjoyed meeting new people.
James enjoyed traveling and sharing family history with the younger generations. His brother, Richard, predeceased him. His sister, Janice Ryder of Belfast, Maine, and her children, Scott and Linda; sister-in-law, Christa Trim of Littleton, Mass.; nephews, Christopher Trim and his family of West Newbury, Mass., Stanley Trim and his family of Leominster, Mass., and Eric Trim of Littleton, survive him.
His family wishes to thank Hospice of the North Shore for providing comfort and care, and give a special thank you to his nurse, Cecelia, for bringing James his favorite meals and many smiles.
His gentle, quiet spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family requests that a donation in James’ memory be made to their favorite charity.
ARRANGEMENTS: A graveside memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 27, at 11 a.m., at Free Will Baptist Church, Islesboro, Maine, where James will be laid to rest with his parents and brother.
