Jean Louise (Loesch) Gomez, 90


Danvers — Mrs. Jean Louise Gomez, 90, of Danvers, beloved wife of the late T.J. Gomez, died Wednesday, October 16th, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born in North Royalton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Eva (Lesser) Loesch. She was raised and educated in North Royalton and was a graduate of North Royalton High School. She continued her education at Ohio State University earning her degree in Horticulture.

Mrs. Gomez had been employed as an Orchid Horticulturist with Orchidvale in Beverly Farms for over 21 years until the time of her retirement. She had a true and deep passion for flowers especially her beloved orchids.

Mrs. Gomez moved to Beverly Farms in 1952 and resided there until moving with her family to the Town of Danvers in 1976.

A longtime active member of the Maple Street Congregational Church, Jean was also a member of the Maple Eves. She was an avid bowler and birdwatcher. Nature and its preservation was a deep passion for Jean. She enjoyed taking in its splendors throughout the world through her travels and had a keen eye for capturing the world's beauty by taking photographs which she shared with her family and friends. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Jean is survived by her children, Barbara Gomez of Rockport, Richard Gomez and his wife, Molly, of Burlingame, California and Carol Gomez of Danvers, her grandchildren, Jessica and Leona Gomez. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Linda Jean Gomez.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service which will be held in the Maple Street Congregational Church, Maple St., Danvers, Sunday, October 20th at 12 Noon. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Route 62), Danvers.
