Wallace D. "Wally" Dash, 83


SEABROOK, NH — Wallace D. “Wally” Dash, 83, of Seabrook, N.H., and formerly of West Newbury and Salem, Mass., passed away late Monday afternoon October 21, 2013, at the Maplewood Center in Amesbury, with family by his side. He was the widower of Patricia (Steiger) Dash.

Wally was born September 14, 1930, in Salem to the late William C. and Elizabeth (McMillan) Dash.

He was a Veteran of Korea having served with the Army Seabees. During his working life he was a carpenter who built houses.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, also enjoying camping, surf fishing and clamming. His sense of adventure and travel had him driving all the way to Alaska. Wally's love for the outdoors and his love of Plum Island was what made him a voluteer to keep Plum Island beautiful.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the West Newbury Conservation Commission.

He is survived by a son, Robert W. and his wife, Debra Dash, of Byfield; a step-daughter, Rebecca and her husband, John Trelfa, of Salisbury; brothers, Arlie Dash of South Paris, Maine, William Dash of Danvers, and Douglas Dash of Salem; and a sister, Doris Elaine Reardon of Salem. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Daniel, Stephen and Shaylyn Dash, Heidi Landry and Kristin McNulty; also eight great-grandchildren, Hannah, Amya, Kati, Jaidyn, Kellen, MaKayla, Glory and Brynne. He was predeceased by two sisters, Edith Corinne Stewart and Faith Arling.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held at the F.S. Robert and Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley, at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013. A period of visitation will precede the funeral from 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Donation in his memory may be made to Protection Fire Company #1, Central Street, Byfield, MA 01922.
