Philip M. Enos, 64

ROCKPORT, MA — Philip M. Enos, 64, of Peabody, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, with family by his side, on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.

He was born in Salem on April 28, 1949, to his late parents, George and Mary (Ladycheski) Enos.

While growing up in Peabody, Philip was an alter boy during his teenage years. He graduated from Peabody Veteran's Memorial High School and joined the Navy. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.

During his working career he was a respiratory therapist with achievements that included Head of Respiratory Therapy at Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester and Hunt Memorial Hospital in Danvers.

Philip was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching his sons play baseball and football, rarely missing any of the games they played while growing up. He played goalie as a young man in a men's recreational ice hockey league, often reminiscing sarcastically about his athletic ability.

Philip enjoyed music and had a profound admiration for musicians. He particularly loved jazz music and was a huge fan of Steely Dan.

In his last several years, he enjoyed retirement and spent most of his time spoiling his grandchildren.

His granddaughter, Bailey, and grandson, Jonathan, will remember him as Grampy and miss him tremendously, as we all will.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Valarie (Chatman) Enos of Salisbury; sons, Michael Enos and Christopher Enos, both of Peabody and Steeven and his wife, Laura (Mezynski) Enos of Salem; his daughter, Kathleen Enos and her husband, Jonathan O'Neil, and their two children, Bailey and Jonathan O'Neil of Rowley. He also leaves his brother, George Enos of Gloucester.

ARRANGEMENTS: Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the Main Street Cemetery, Main Street (Route 1A), Rowley. Family and friends invited. Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan Street, Danvers, MA 01923. The F.S. Roberts and Son Funeral Home of Rowley assisted the family with arrangements.
