Peabody — Deolinda Amaro (Medeiros) Lobo, 86, of Peabody, died on Tuesday afternoon, with her family at her sided at the Peabody Glen Nursing in Peabody, following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late José Lobo.
Born in St. Miguel, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Ludwina (Amaro) Medeiros. She was raised and educated in Portugal, and had spent the last 34 years living in Peabody.
Deolinda was first employed with Duchess Footwear in Salem, and later, before she retired, she was an assembler for the Bleyer’s Industries in Wakefield.
She is survived by a son, Jose and his wife, Maria Lobo of Peabody; a daughter, Noemia Silva of Peabody; a brother, Benavenute Medeiros of St. Michael’s, Portugal; two sisters, Maria do Ceu of Canada, and Olivia Medeiros of New Bedford; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her visitation will be held on Friday, from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m., at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody.
