Beverly — Myrtle Y. Merrill, 80, died on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at the Essex Park Rehabilitation Center in Beverly.
Born and raised in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Flora (LeVesseur) Merrill.
Ms. Merrill had been employed for over 30 years by the Beverly Public School System, and at the time of her retirement, she working at the Memorial Middle School in Beverly.
A lifelong resident of Beverly, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Beverly for many years. Myrtle enjoyed rooting for the local sports teams, including the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. She also enjoyed knitting, reading, and held a special place in her heart for animals, especially her two cats.
Surviving her are three sisters, Marjorie Cohn, her twin sister of Beverly, Joan Moroni and her husband, Faust, of Beverly, and Jean Merrill of Beverly; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Louise Ruest and Everett Merrill.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church, 221 Cabot Street, Beverly, Wednesday, November 13, at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell–Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, on Wednesday morning, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., prior to the service.
