Ipswich — Robert Colby Emerson Jr., 51, died on Thursday, November 7, 2013, in the Lahey Medical Center in Burlington, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Danvers on June 25, 1962, he was the son of the late Robert C. Sr. and Victoria (Gwozdz) Emerson.
Robert was raised and educated in Ipswich, and was a graduate of Ipswich High School, Class of 1980. He also was a graduate of Holy Cross College in Worcester, Class of 1984. Robert had lived in Ipswich his whole life. He had a passion for cooking. Robert loved his friends, entertaining, movies, reading, singing, and travel. He also loved his days at Crane Beach.
Robert is survived by his sister, Anne E. Emerson of Kittery Point, Maine. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 14, at 9 a.m., at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Burial will follow in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, November 13, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main Street, Ipswich. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. A reception will follow the cemetery service at the First Church’s Meeting House in Ipswich. Again, all are respectfully invited.
