FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. — Mary Elizabeth Micalizzi, 61, of Flagler Beach, Fla., formerly of Lynn, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at her residence after a long battle with liver disease. Beloved wife of Joseph Micalizzi with whom she shared 40 years of marriage.
Mary was born on July 22, 1947 in Everett, to the late Harold and Catherine (McCauley) Wallace. Mary moved to Flagler Beach in 2003, after raising her family in Lynn. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was a beautiful woman who touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Prior to her retirement, Mary worked as a medical secretary for Endodontics, Inc. in Salem. After settling in to Plantation Oaks, she quickly became an active member of the community, serving as Vice President of the PORA Group.
She dedicated time to the Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, where she also worked in the gift shop. She was a former communicant of St. Mary's Church where she also worked in the Rectory for many years.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter, Lynn Marie Heinze and her husband Eric of Tewksbury; her two sons, Anthony Micalizzi and his wife Kristin of Peabody and Joseph Micalizzi and his wife Rosella of Hamilton; her sister, Kathleen O'Malley of Lakeland, Fla.; her loving cousin, Elizabeth Budrow of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two sister-in-laws, Toni Ann Micalizzi of Malden and Jean Fox of Stoughton; her five grandchildren, whom she adored, Nicholas and Marissa Heinze, Gianna and Anthony Micalizzi Jr., and Aubrey Micalizzi.
