Jupiter, Fla. — Dorothy M. Hamilton, 92, longtime Beverly resident, died August 31, Jupiter, Fla., after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband R. Edward Hamilton in 1977.
She was born October 29, 1919, in Dedham to Thomas and Elizabeth Dennison. Dorothy had worked at Henry's Market and Johnny Appleseeds but she was happiest as a homemaker, famous for her apple pies and Toll House cookies.
She was active in and served as President of the Ladies Sodality at St. John the Evangelist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean and husband John P. Roccio of Beverly; her sons, Robert E. and wife Marnie Hamilton of Williamsburg, Va. and William T. and wife Nancy Hamilton of Jupiter, Fla.
She leaves eight grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. She was predeceased by her companion of several years, Rinaldo Angelini and her siblings Lillian, Albert, Alfred, Richard, Ruth, Thomas, Robert and Francis.
