Doris L. Kearney, 86


BEVERLY — Doris L. Kearney, 86, passed away Monday, September 9, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family, which was important because her greatest joy was family and friends. Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mildred (Goldsmith) Hubbard.

Doris was a lifelong resident of Beverly and a graduate of Beverly High School, class of 1944. For 20 years, Doris worked as a waitress for Romie’s Oyster House in Danvers and subsequently worked as a medical records clerk at Beverly Hospital.

She is survived by her six children, Patricia Freni of Beverly, Jack Kearney and his wife, Sarah, of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Jane Murphy and her husband, Jim, of Bowdoin, Maine, Steven Kearney and his wife, Michelle, of Cypress, Texas, Scott Kearney and his wife, Tracie, of Bowdoin, Maine and Jean Wilson and her husband, Rick, of Beverly; one sister, Joan LaPenna; twenty-one grandchildren; four great-grandchildren with another four on the way; along with many nieces and nephews, especially Tom Edmonds. She was predeceased by her sisters, Shirley Snow and Verna Edmonds and her brother-in-law, Bob Kearney.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., North Beverly on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. A Memorial Service will be held immediately following visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Doris’ favorite color was purple, if you have any purple apparel please feel free to wear it. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Beverly.
