Dorothy A. (Dickinson) Wirling, 82


Ipswich, MA — Dorothy A. (Dickinson) Wirling, 82, wife of the late Robert P. Wirling, died Monday morning April 29, 2013, in the Essex Park Nursing Home in Beverly.

Born in Salem on February 1, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Edward H. and Jeanette (Doan) Dickinson. Mrs. Wirling was employed at the lunch counter at the former Hamilton/Wenham News Store many years ago. Later she drove a school bus for several years for children in the town of Hamilton who lived on Gregory Island Road. Mrs. Wirling also worked as a waitress at the former Misty Acres Restaurant in Essex for her sister, Priscilla. She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1990.

Mrs. Wirling is survived by her son Robert F. and his wife, Wanda Jean Wirling of Center Conway, N.H. She is also survived by her three granddaughters, Christine, Amanda and Emily; her great-grandson Mason Foster; her two sisters, Priscilla and Carolyn; and her twin brother Don; and also several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wirling was also predeceased by her granddaughter, Janice and her brother, Carroll.

ARRANGEMENTS: A graveside committal service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013, at 11 a.m., in the Greenlawn Cemetery, 57 Orne St., Salem, MA, relatives and friends are respectfully invited. There will be no visiting hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Morris Funeral Home of Ipswich.
